Korean artist Choi Jeong-Hwa develops his works onto a big scale. The Breathing Flower and Red Lotus, his grandiose installations each feature an enormous lotus flower made of red fabric. In Asian cultures, the lotus represents purity and grace and Choi combines its image with the color red, a hue most associated with good fortune and vitality. The petals of the flowers move in the wind and that gentle, unexpected movement is what brings the artwork to life.

The massive 24-foot installation has been installed in front of the San Francisco Asian Art Museum.
