Many of us are draw inspiration from our surroundings but French artist Thomas Lamadieu is inspired by his surroundings in a different way—specifically the empty spaces of sky inbetween city buildings.
“My artistic approach is intended to show a different perception of urban architecture and the environment that surrounds us daily…To be able to invent a limitless imagination…” Thomas explains.
In his series SkyArt, Thomas uses these shapes and transforms them into a canvas for clever line drawings of curious cats, voluptuous ladies, elderly men, a rooster playing the banjo. A clever form of upcycling dead space into something more.
